Best thing I’ve learned in Student Health 101 so far

One of the most interesting articles was about summer jobs. I learned that in addition to the paycheck, you also gain tons of experience, develop your leadership and communication skills, and meet a new network of people who might eventually become your friends. The article made me aware of the benefits of working or even volunteering (if you’re not old enough to work and just want to help out in the community).

Fun facts about me

I love animals. At one point, my house was home to a pair of Welsh Springer Spaniels and no less than 13 parrots—not the tiny parakeets, but the foot-tall Macaws, Cockatoos, and Amazons.

How I give back to my community

I enjoy volunteering at the local daycare that my sister and I went to when we were young. I find it rewarding to help teach the younger generation in the same manner I was taught.
