Why we love it

APA, MLA, Chicago, oh my! Trying to cite sources for a paper or project can be mind-boggling. Different teachers may require different citation styles, and getting the hang of them all isn’t easy. Luckily there are reference generator apps to simplify citing your sources.

We’re fans of the free, user-friendly app RefME. The app allows you to:

  • Scan barcodes on journals and books (using your phone’s camera) to generate a citation
  • Search for a reference using the book or article title, URL, DOI, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members for group projects
  • Export citations via email or Evernote
  • Sync with Microsoft® Word or Endnote

Remember always to double-check your citations for accuracy when using any kind of citation generator. Computers are smart, but they aren’t perfect at citing sources.
